scanner art by Peter Miszuk including Lanphear’s jewels, and his Spring UO campaign (bottom).

I stumbled upon Peter Miszuk’s mixed-media “scanner art” forever ago, thought it was really cool, and could never find it again. Then I saw some scanner-fashion images in my local Urban Outfitters and thought “man, they rip everyone off!” Poor guy. Eventually, I learned that UO had in fact commissioned Miszuk’s work for their Spring catalogue and store displays, and promptly gave them a mental pat on the back.

While I’m not a big fan of Miszuk’s street style selections (I think we’re all a little bored with street style blogs these days?) he does have a really intriguing perspective on life/fashion/art, & his personal photos are enough to keep me lurking. I also love that his scanner project came out of pure boredom/creative thinking & parlayed itself into a career signature. (He’s also close enough with Kate Lanphear to have her jewels anywhere near his scanner & is another fan of big fancy footwear, which makes him a man after my own heart.)

I’m a fan.
