I had a great time as always at this years Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party. This year as opposed to just attending as a guest, I helped out backstage at Milk studios dressing models for the D&G runway show that kicked off the party.

The clothes from the D&G Fall 2009 collection (which I’d pretty much overlooked last season) were stunning to look at, but a little too costume-y for off the runway. What I really fell in love with were the accessories and good lord, THE SHOES! The tapestry tassels could be easily DIYed – and you know I will.

Once done helping out backstage, I headed out front to the party. I had some mild social anxiety since i had gone alone and I’m pretty co-dependent in a party setting, but the Teen Vogue staff was on hand (duh) which quickly put me at ease and I bumped into a number of old friends along the way. Sweet, social crisis averted. The Noisettes performed, the DJ got everyone dancing, and I got caught in the paparazzi frenzy that is Taylor Lautner (or “HEY! TWILIGHT DUDE!!!” as the paps so lovingly called him). What’s been really interesting to note is the shift in Young Hollywood since the first of Teen Vogue’s parties, not a Lindsay or Paris in sight this year, which marked the end of an era of sorts. So far – emphasis on the “so far” – I’d say the new school makes for a better set of role models.

To wrap this up, I had a great night, and the party was over before I turned into a pumpkin – and before most of the guest-of-honors’ curfews!

PS – O hai blog, missed you!!
