Balenciaga platform wedges, American Apparel Disco pants, Vintage top
The Balenciaga wedges… While it seems like some time after I posted, everyone and their grandma ended up with a pair (I see why!)… I ended up with 3. But who’s counting?
I bought my blue pair before any Balenciagas ended up at DSW in Union Square for $99 (Yes, DSW. I know, wtf). But of course when I found out they were there, I had 2 of my NY bests J. Chesky & G. Darling scoop up the tan & emerald pairs, respectively. Shockingly, all 3 pairs combined cost less than 1 pair at the original price, so while I know it’s still a bit excessive, you must understand how long I’d been after them & why I couldn’t pass them up!
If I’ve learned anything from shopping it’s this: If you love something totally out of your price range, let it go. If it comes back off-season & seriously on sale… you know it was meant to be. Buy 3.
Thank you again shoe gods, I guess that goat I sacrificed did work (totally kidding, PETA). I have successfully broken-in the triplettes and they are getting fantastic mileage.
And to those who asked: (1) They run true to size, maybe half-size small, but eventually stretch (2) I’m barely 5′, so I’m used to huge shoes on a daily basis. But yes, they are probably hard to walk in if you’re not used to a 5″ heel. The wedge helps though.
PS – like my snazzy GIF? Also, not that it matters, but curious: do you pronounce it “jiff” or “giff” with a hard g? Inquiring minds would love to know.

Hard “g.”
I’m not mad at the triple indulgence at all. Trust, if I would have known about the Ballys in time, I would have sent a friend to snag some of the sandals to ship to me! =D
ohhhh my gosh I am soooo infinitely jealous. I hate that they come out with these at DSW just 6 months after I move out of America for good. I highly doubt they still have these at the store huh? Probably sold out real fast. Anyhow, they are so insanely hot and youre so lucky to have all 3! That sapphire-like blue is absolutely gorgeous!

Thank you for reminding me that I should have bought those bloody wedges in the sand color when I had the chance. No worries! I’ll be in NYC soon enough and I’ll make the rounds. And don’t talk to me about excess…I’m notorious for buying the same things in multiple colors. I have two pairs of the Balenciaga Cork Platform Sandals (black & brown) because I just couldn’t decide on which color. There was a third, the white, but I don’t do white footwear, ever. I should have picked up those wedges. Bloody hell.

I’ve gotten SO MANY great pairs of shoes at DSW in New York. Great find! I mean, you can barely get a pair of shoes for $99 at Nine West . . .
You should be happy to know your blog inspired me to buy some of my first pairs of heels. (Reading this you may think I’m 13, I’m actually a 21-year-old with an aversion to anything-not-flat.)

Kind of jealous wish I had the ability to indulge in a pair of amazing platforms or heels, still practicing though. I am not mad at your triple play at all. Like my mom says when you find something that fits you good and great price by two or in your case three.

i own the tan pair and i’ve been trying to break them in. i tried to wear them while vacuuming earlier and nearly broke my ankle. haha. i will conquer them eventually though!

OH MY GOD the navy ones are MAGIC. I’ve been dying for some wedges just like this – being in Australia is rubbish, there are never any nice shoes – and definitely never nice DESIGNER shoes for $100! POUT. You were right to buy three pairs!!

would you mind sharing what size yours are? My gf in ny got her hands on 2 pairs from the union sqaure DSW. she got me an 38.5 cuz she is a 7.5 and the 38 fit her prefect (and snuggly). Im an 8, so after your saying they run true to size after broken in im nervous
