new bangs courtesy of London at Siren Salon (the only person in LA allowed to snip my hair, but it still feels like cheating on Dana) & new ring courtesy Mom
I leave for NY on Tuesday! I still haven’t packed (my goal is to pack ONE carry-on for my week-ish long stay…wish me luck) but I am so excited to see Peter, Julia, Gala, Nubby, Kate, Street Etiquette, Heavyroc boys, Teen Vogue, and anyone else who else wants to hang! This should be fun.
In other news, us freelancers are struggling right along with everyone else, so I’ve been job hunting, working on new projects, trying not to spend money I don’t have, but truly enjoying the free time by the beach, brainstorms a-brewin’, and creative problem solving that comes along with funemployment. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love nothing more than to have a steady income, but it’s all motivation for the hustle. To everyone who has e-mailed me in a similar boat – keep your head up!

LOVE the bangs! Have a great time in NYC and take loads of pics!
And for this post, I <3 you even more!! Safe travels to NY
I just got bangs too! It must be that time of year when everyone needs a change. Your hair looks great, and that ring is sort of baller (does anyone say that any more?).
The bangs looks A-MAZING Jazzi. You’re making me want my bangs back. & I love the rings, especially the one on your middle finger. xoxo fab!
Hey Jazzi!
Cute bangs!
I wanted to ask you if you had any problems at Sirens in terms of them being able to work with your hair texture. I know that us black chixx don’t have the same process as others when it comes to getting our hair done, which is why I’ve been a bit leery about trying out salons in L.A. So please, let me know how your experience was :)
so tempted to cut my hair, yours looks adorable.
Fierce! Love it :)
You’re so cool, Jazzi. I wanna be like you when I grow up.
Great!
Can’t wait to kick it with you also
@Kameron Simpson – to be honest, i don’t trust anyone 100% with my hair except Dana Gibbs (http://danasloft.com). But she’s in NY :’(
London at Sirens is amaaazing with cuts, but I get everything else done elsewhere (by different people every time). I trust him fully with a dry cut and bangs, but I don’t t think they could handle ethnic hair from start to finish. The salon is great for funky colors/cuts and stuff like that though, and everyone is really nice.
Hey Jazzi. I love the new haircut! I can’t wait to see you in a few days! There will be a lot of burger eating once you are here.
P.S. I will only believe you on the single carry on when I see it.
I love your fringe, it suits you so well!
You’re coming to NYC?! Let’s do lunch sometime!
also — love the Hansberry quote <3
I’M SO EXCITED FOR 2 REASONS; REUNITED AND FEELING SO GOOD AND YOU GOT BANGS!! better than fake riri hair. GET IT GURL <3
I love the bangs and I love that ring
That’s some awesome bling right there! And your haircut is adorable! At least if you still had a great hairdresser when you couldn’t have your usual one.
I know exactly what you mean about funemployment – while it is annoying having literally no cash, it can be incredibly productive in a creative way!
