Just used a little fabric glue, grosgrain ribbon, and a little snippy-snippy to whip up a DIY of Richard Nicoll’s Spring 2010 armband/bracelets. I didn’t have a suitable brooch, so I layered it with this faux-bling from Forever 21. It took about 3 yards of ribbon, and I’m planning to pick up some brooches at the flea market next week then make some darker, fuller pieces. So simple.

So simple, but really a bold and intriguing piece! I have some great brooches that could be used…hmmm…
It looks fab! Loves it.
Adorable! They’ve got a commendation/medal look about them, like an award for awesome conduct or something!
I have such a weak spot for both vintage sparklies and brightly colored grosgrain, I’ll def have to give this a go! Thanks for the tip!
Hi Jazzi greetings from Sydney Australia!! I love your blog it is so funny and cute I was googling the teen vogue handbook and your entry on it came up on the first page and it was so amusing I’ve been reading the rest of your blog all day (up to page 14…). I really love your blog because it’s so useful to me I’m in yr 12 ( senior year equivalent ) and about to enter the real world, and all I know is that I absolutely have to work in the fashion industry! I MUST! Nothing else gives me the same thrill. I love the styling/editorial side. I have no connections in the fashion industry, but am so willing to bust my ass, and I know it will be an incredible struggle without a trust fund or connections, but this is what I love more than anything else. I sound like a deranged psycho but I have so many questions to ask you! I think all your experience is so amazing. What kind of university degree is useful if I want to (eventually) become a fashion editor at a magazine? I want to do an internship next year, would anyone hire a first-year university student with zero fashion experience but a genuine love for it, and if not, what else can I do to get a foot in the door? And how do I actually get an internship in the first place when they are so competitive with these kids with their connections and people who have done other internships already?? What kind of past work is looked upon favorably by intern hirers ie experience working in retail, admin? I’m so sorry for pestering you with all these questions, if you’ve read up to this you are such a sweetheart
This looks simple enough! The perfect way to put some flair on a simple outfit.
Cant wait to try on my own.
This is such a great idea for a DIY. I think it might be my project for this weekend. Micheal’s her I come!

Thank you Jazzi…I truly needed something fun and colorful to cheer me up and it wont cost me much cash and isn’t hard to do so it wont take a lot of time to whip one up! YAY! I saw some ribbon with polka dots and flowers in the fabric section of the wal-mart am off to get some now…
