When I first saw these shots of Courtney Love by Hedi Slimane I thought “Who made those shoes!?” Then I quickly realized Courtney herself had made them and so could I. Well, I did just that, using:
Scalloped Trim
Beaded Trim
Lace Trim
Buttons
Hot Glue/Needle & Thread
(all from F&S Fabrics)

1. Measure your ankles
2. Cut/Sew 2 pieces of trim together at the seam
3. Glue/sew on flair (buttons, more trim, etc)
4. Attach with buttons/elastic/or safety pins.
I think it’s pretty sweet that Courtney Love made DIY high fashion and from the looks of this shoot, I wouldn’t be surprised if she put out an accessory line in the near future… and I’d be the first in line for it!

courtney really is amazing. i really love the 4th photo from the shoot.
the site looks GREAT btw jazzi <3
a couple months ago she was raiding etsy accessory shops with a vengeance…I wonder how many of these are from there.
This DIY is stellar.
My boyfriend is a big Nirvana fan so I couldn’t flaunt my “Courtney wears” around him. The pieces she is wearing in the photos look intricate.
you never cease to amaze
Hell yes to self embellishment/diy!
the ankle cuffs are actually from boudoirqueen @ etsy
but i know that c.love has been talking about coming out with a line for a while now
i hope she does. she is such a goddess.
xox
are they? there are pics of courtney sewing them together in the shoot so i assumed she made them (though i guess that could have been staged)

you are brilliant! please keep the diys coming!
I think those ankle cuffs were from BQ as stated above. Courtney knows how to sew and maybe she was adding the cuffs to the boots.
I have made a pair of shoes for her (among other stuff) and she wore them with a pair of ankle cuffs that were very hard to tell apart from the shoes.
Ain’t that a wonderful photospread?

I will definitely try this. Thanks ;]
