Approximately 1 million moons ago, I did a post entitled Dark Lips: Test 1. Somewhere in my brain I’d obviously planned a Test 2 but who knew it would be approximately 1 million moons later. Well, here it is.
Since my last post, I’d now call myself a dark lipstick aficionado. I no longer reserve a dark lip for nights out and wear the look to many a Monday morning meeting. It’s kind of a thing now. I’m so comfortable in a dark lip that pretty much any other color makes me feel like a clown. I’m still experimenting with the brighter end of the color spectrum but have yet to the house in anything close. That scares me. Who goes straight from no-lipstick-ever to basically-black-lips-always? This girl. Let’s call it giant baby steps.
The above lip pencil is my current everyday color by NARS. It’s the perfect matte plum with serious staying power. I rotate between about 5 other colors now (including my still-beloved Kat von D Homegirl or Rosary & Illamasqua’s Growl)

I did this mini-lookbook for one of my favorite people in the world, Loulou, while she was here in L.A. I very simply adore Loulou and her new ‘Lydia’ lingerie set. Seriously: a lingerie designing babe, holistic masseuse with a British accent, the kindest spirit and perfect pouty lips… Yeah, I’m still not entirely convinced she’s real but she’s the best dream girl ever. I will never be over having such talented friends.

Happy New Year!
I’m currently screwing my head back on from a whirlwind friends & family-filled holiday. So I didn’t get the neon ‘Jazzi’ sign I wanted for Christmas (poop), but I did get all my favorite foods, beer, friends, an overdose of love and support, 1-months rent, Savage Beauty, velvet hangers, and a new hairdo (!) from the incredible Janine at Hairroin Salon who I also credit for a few cute dudes who have come my way. Consider me content.
Santa also sent me 4 of my East-coast besties for a holiday visit including Julia, who took the photos above and a bunch more on the way. Thanks Julia and our beloved Paul Smith wall!
2012 is on and poppin’ and I hope you’re feeling it too. More pastels and dark lips in 2012 (or is that just me?)!
P.S. – If I have another yard sale will you come? We had a blast at the last one and want to do it again (on a sunnier day). We’ve got more stuff.

Once upon a time some bloggers were going to have a yard sale. That weekend it rained in usually-sunny-LA and that yard sale was postponed. A year and 1 baby later (not mine, Alicia’s) that yard sale was re-scheduled. You came, you hung out, you shopped, you saved some money while helping us clean our closets and we all lived happily ever after.
Long story short: YARD SALE. TOMORROW. ECHO PARK. YOU COME. YOU BUY. ME HAPPY.
I have some pretty stylish friends with some pretty messy closets, come help us purge. Or at least come say hi. There will be some designer stuff, some not designer stuff, some vintage, a desk I bought that is too big for my studio, some shoes, a baby (not for sale) and general good vibes… and more. Outside of Jayne, Alicia, Natalie, Nia and myself, I have a few other (coughstylistcough) friends dropping off gear and we’re also hosting a BROOK&LYN sample sale (not to be confused with Brooklyn, this yard sale is in L.A.)… Don’t miss this one.
